They will make excuses and act like they do not have the time to fit in a work-at-home business or job. What many should understand is that if they really, deep down want to be working from home successfully, then it should be a priority just like everything else in their life. It should be on the top of their list just like their children, family, job, etc. We tend to procrastinate and make excuses to things that should be very important in our lives by doing the things that are not so important. Like watching that TV show each day that we know is not benefiting us in anyway or cleaning the house until we are blue in the face. Even for those who are currently working outside the home can and will make the time for their work-at-home business or job if they wanted it that much and were willing.

That ultimately is what it comes down to. How bad do you want success working from home? What are you willing to put into it to make it happen? Are you willing to never give up? These are all important questions you need to answer before becoming successful working from home. So, what you honestly need to do is sit yourself down and ask yourself: What am I willing to sacrifice to achieve success working from home?

When you finally decide that you are ready to make that commitment, that is where you will need to find the balance between working at home, your family, your life, your job, etc. This is where many get stuck, frustrated and give up. This is the ultimate test and obstacle to achieving success working from home. What are you going to do when the times get tough? Are you ready to knock that wall down?

You can find the balance. It is there if you put forth the effort to creating it and allowing it to be active in your life. That is why the below tips will help you if you really commit to them and to working at home.

Here are the top 5 tips to achieving balance:

1. Create a schedule. There is always the right time for certain things. Write down, type up or buy a planner. Stay consistent 3 to 5 days a week working your work-at-home business or job. Work it around your family and life but also make it a priority. It must come first just like many other things in your life. Write the to do list at what time each day you need to do work-at-home tasks, family time, etc. so you can achieve a successful schedule.

2. Stick to what you plan. With a job outside the home many tend to think they do not have a choice in making their job a priority. You need to have this same mentality with your work-at-home business or job. It must be a large part of your life but not take over your life. That is simple when you stick with what you plan, schedule and stay focused on the tasks at hand. After setting up your daily schedules for the week, stick to them and that way you still allow the important things like family and life to come first while achieving the tasks you need to get done to make working at home a success.

3. Learn how to sacrifice. I know it is exciting to know that your favorite show will be on, that the new movie in the theaters is coming out, that much needed nap is calling your name and so many other things we do to utilize our time and money. Think about all the things we purchase on a monthly basis from pizza to that cute purse we want to the couple extra things at Walmart we didn't need get. Sacrificing is a concept that many should understand when working at home or even not working at home. No matter what we will have to sacrifice something, sometime. That is life. Do you want to sacrifice that little bit now to not have to sacrifice all that time and money later? Or do you want to sacrifice the rest of your life as you keep procrastinating the important things that need to be done now to achieve success? It is your choice to decide what is important in your life and follow through with it.

4. Allow the small things to fall away. Don't focus on the things you cannot control. Do not allow things that are not so important in your life determine how you feel, what you achieve each day and how you approach life's situations. We seem to focus so much on what we cannot control or change, that we do not realize that there are so many things we can focus on that will allow us to change or control our future, our purpose, or life. Let the past go, let the hardships go... move forward, stay focused, stay positive and just do whatever it takes to making your goals and dreams possible.

5. Work on personal growth and development. Staying inspired, encouraged and happy allows you to balance life and work-at-home. It teaches you what is important in life, your purpose and how to achieve your goals without stress or worry. Learning who you are, what you want, how you can help others and all around what your purpose is will allow freedom and happiness into your life. Which in return achieves balance.

In result of doing all of the above you will come to realize how much simpler it can be working from home if you just allow it to be simple.

I am very lucky to be with the my team and have the opportunity to work from home.

Welcome to Homerun!

December 10, 2010

My email settings

Credit: $0.05

Welcome to HomeRun! In fact, the sooner you begin this important life lesson, the better your child will be able to manage money throughout life.

I have learned three important aspects of managing money involve saving money for the future, giving money to charity, and spending money on wants and needs. It's funny but children at an early age can learn the value of money and simple money skills. And as children mature, they can take on varying levels of responsibility with money, as simple as learning to budget and earn more. There are a number of ways to teach your child to manage his or her money. Here are some ideas to get you started.

Save some.
Even the youngest children love to gather and save pennies. Take my four year old he loves to save money. A friend of mine gacve him a little bank that counts the money for him and he loves for the numbers to go up. He will ad a penny and say "Look Mama I have more" So teach your child to value money at the an early age by getting a piggy bank or money jar and letting your child fill it up with change out of your pocket, or pennies earned doing little tasks. Be sure to take only a certain percentage of those pennies so you can teach your child about the other aspects of money management.

You can also open a savings account for an older child. Each time your child is paid or receives their allowance, take a trip to the bank and deposit a set percentage or amount. Be sure to have the bank print out the balance routinely so your youngster can watch the balance grow.

Give some.
If you attend church, you have a very good opportunity to show your child the concept of giving. Give your child his or her allowance or earnings before entering, then as you put your money in the collection plate, help your child figure out the percentage of his or her offering. Even my little Guy enjoys this and he's only four. Donating to charity of any kind is important to teach your child. You may want to start a donation jar for your child. Each time your child receives their allowance or wages, be sure to help them take a percentage and drop it into the donation jar. Then, when it's filled, help them pick out a charity and make the donation.

Spend some.
Probably the most fun part of your child's money management will naturally be the spending part. None of us are saints, so we all need our little rewards for a job well done. Once the saving and giving is completed, your child now has a little cash to spend on what they want or need. A younger child will, of course, want to buy some candy or a toy. An older child may want to take a trip to the mall for some new clothes or music. Depending on the child's age, some of the spending money may be for essentials as well as fun items. Striking a balance between the two will take time, but your child will figure it out – with your help.
Starting a system of money management early in a child's life will help them develop a sense of control. Money is something we all need to learn to handle, and the earlier we start, the better. These are skills that will last your child a lifetime. You may have a struggle on your hands at first, especially the “save” and “give” portion of the lesson. But, it is a struggle well worth the effort to ensure a lifetime of money management skills.
As a parent, every aspect of your child's development is your concern. Ensuring they develop strong financial skills is mandatory for children to grow into strong, financially secure adults. I wish that I would of had this taught to me at an early age but yet I learned the hard way. But yet a lesson well learned.

Shalane Flanagan Get's 2nd in NY Marathon

Check out the link:

http://www.melaleuca.com/ProductStore/Content.aspx?Page=Melaleuca_Athlete_Shalane_Flanagan&cm_re=201010-_-splash-_-Shalane_Flanagan

Finally Potty Trained!!!

Well it's been almost five months since my last post about potty training. It has been the longest most agonizing five months ever. BUT, I have great news. It has been a little shy of two weeks and YES! He is potty trained. Please don't ask me what I did, But I will tell you what I remember...

It was a Friday night and I was at me wits-end. He had gone under the dining room table for the last time... I immediately picked him up and ran up the stairs to the bathroom and gently sat him on the toilet (HUH well maybe not so gently) But anyway, he's now on the toilet looking up at me and not muttering a word. I too am quiet as a church mouse, but it was the look on my face that he saw and knew "Mommy means business" I then turned and exited the bathroom. The stench of the poop followed me into the hall. I turned around and went back into the bathroom, where my little guy sat. I washed out the soiled underwear and vowed this will be the last time. I looked down at my beautiful son and said "I'm DONE! This is over" He repeated what I said. And then I walked out. I sat on the edge of his bed and tears began to roll down my face, I cried out to God " Lord I Give it to you, I am tired and weary and don't know what else to do BUT to give it to my FATHER, In the name of Jesus.

I got up with a heavy peace, wiped my face and went back into the bathroom, I asked my son was he finished. He said "No Mommy" I said okay well I will be right here with you let me know when your done. He said "Okay". I walked out to do something, and I heard a Yell "MOMMY I'M POOPING" I ran in to see and we shouted and danced, HE HAD POOPED!!! I said that wasn't scary now was it... "NO MOMMY" I said that didn't hurt now did it? "NO MOMMY" I said I'm soo sooo Proud of YOU! I quietly thanked GOD! and it's been two weeks. The Power of Prayer!!!

When you feel that you can't go on anymore, don't give up take a little time to pray and see what happens.

Trey will finally start school in a couple of weeks. Woo Hoo!!!

Instead of giving myself reasons why I can't, I give myself reasons why I can."~ Unknown

10 Places Not to Use Your Debit Card: Do You Do This?

Debit cards have become the currency of choice in America today. It enables users to conduct a wide variety of financial transactions without carrying lots of cash.

The problem is that debit card users begin using them like credit cards, and that‘s not always wise, financial experts warn. “It’s important that consumers understand the difference between a debit card and a credit card,” says John Breyault, director of the Fraud Center for the National Consumers League, a Washington, D.C.-based advocacy group. “There’s a difference in how the transactions are processed and the protections offered to consumers when they use them,” he told Yahoo Finance.

These are 10 places or situations where it is recommended you do not use debit cards, according to Yahoo Finance:

1. Online: Susan Tiffany, director of consumer periodicals for the Credit Union National Association says if you have problems with a purchase or the card number gets hijacked, a debit card is “vulnerable because it happens to be linked to an account.”

2. Big-ticket items: “With a debit card, you have fewer protections,” explains Linda Foley founder of the Identity Theft Resource Center. When buying electronics or renting a car, some credit cards provide insurance to cover the goods or services.

3. Deposit Required: “This is where you want to use a credit card instead of a debit,” says Peter Garuccio, spokesman for the national trade group American Bankers Association. It’s a win-win: they get their security deposit, and you still have your money in your checking account.

4. Restaurants: “Anecdotally, the cases that I’m hearing of credit or debit information being stolen, as often as not, [is] in a restaurant,” says Garuccio.

5. You’re a new customer: [First] get a feel for how the business is run, how you’re treated and the quality of the merchandise before you hand over a card that links to your checking account.

6. Buy now, take delivery later: You don’t have the dispute rights that you would with a credit card.

7. Recurring payments: How’s this for a debit horror story: the notorious case of the gym that continues to bill an ex-member’s credit card. Now, imagine that the charges aren’t going onto your credit card, but instead coming right out of your bank account immediately.

8. Future travel: If you’re buying travel through a debit card that you won’t use for six months or making a reservation for a few weeks from now, you’ll be out of the money immediately.

9. Gas stations and hotels: Yahoo Finance says sometimes gas stations and hotels place holds for deposits “in the hundreds [of dollars] to make sure you don’t run up a long distance bill, empty the mini bar or trash the room. The practice is almost unnoticeable if you’re using credit, but can be problematic if you’re using a debit card and have just enough in the account to cover what you need.”

10. Mothers and their influence in nurturing goes unquestioned but what significance do fathers play? Fatherhood is something that must be done rather than just thought about. And there is always something to do: PTA meetings, taking my son to practice, helping my daughter and son learn to read and cook, ironing clothes, and listening. Being a father has to be more than introducing a sperm cell to a precious ovum and seeing one’s child on occasion.

Responsible fathering is paramount for both girls and boys and the differences in raising them is important as well. It's easy to discern the difference between a woman who was raised with a father in her life versus a woman who had no such influence. As a father of a young girl, my son and I joke about how she will make a fine wife because she watches football, and she will not accept some thug for a man, because she will expect more and know what a man is supposed to be because her father and brother have active roles in her life.

A girl who never sees that dynamic will not know what a real man is, and will not know what qualities she should expect. As a result, she won't know how to treat a man and sustain a meaningful relationship with one. It may be my own conjecture, but if a man's duty is to provide, shelter and protect his family, and he does, then a woman who doesn't know that he is a strong mate will not know how to reward his actions, and may even complain or take him for granted. Or worse, she may end up with a man that regularly beats and disrespects her.

A girl who is raised seeing loving and caring interaction between her parents will learn how mates reward each other and take care of each others needs. From a woman, they should learn how to treat a man and keep them happy. However, I feel that girls raised in households with just a mother may not learn these lessons (just as boys without fathers). With that, they will add to a more dysfunctional society by not knowing what defines a man, how to select a man, or even how to keep a man. Such people will be never satisfied with anything they see in their mate because they will not know what qualities merit respect, value and appreciation. I don't desire for my daughter to grow up like many of the young girls who think their value is in their appearance instead of their mind. –torrance stephens, ph.d.

Quote of the Day!

If you want your life to be a magnificent story, then begin by realizing that you are the author and everyday you have the opportunity to write a new page - Mark Houlahan

<div style="font-family: comic sans ms; type='text'>Why I love what I do!

My little guy Mr. Trey (4years old) was put down for a nap I had finally sat down to enjoy a cup of tea but too my surprise (pitter-patter coming down the stairs) he wasn't napping. But yet he decided to get into my nail polish and picked the most vibrant color he could fine RED-BERRY! Umm HMM that's right Red-Berry and if any of you remember the egg story well same spot same place Mommy's ROOM. Painted his hands and spilled it all over my "Carmel Latte" Carpet. In a heavy-pant and hysterical panic I immediately grabbed the full strength sol-u-mel and saturated the area (all) I started with toilet paper and began to scrub, it was coming up but in a smear. I then ran to get a rag and that's when (The bells and whistles began to blow) yes yes.... No sign of RED-BERRY.

Sol-U-Mel once again saved my son's life. So if you didn't know now you do. If you have a child between the ages of 2-10 stock up.

Gotta run - need to place my order for more sol-u-mel.

Make it a great day and If you want to know more about this amazing product give me a shout and I can help you set up an account just like I did. Act fast Summer tends to brings out the mischief. I love being surrounded by my children, but there is always a touch of sadness in my heart because I miss my own mother so much.
It’s been just two years since she died of cancer. She was only 69 years old and I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to her, but I suspect that when it comes to our mothers we are never ready to give them up. There are many things I miss about mom, but what I miss the most is sharing my children with her.
Some of my best memories of her are of watching her become a grandmother. She absolutely loved my children beyond measure. She spoiled them with toys and sugary treats and she loved to take them to store for special treats. She practically raised my daughter as she retired right when she went to kindergarten and became her caregiver. They would sit and Drink diet pepsi (which I had forbidden) but I never forgot that she was my Mother and I just kindly asked, please don't give her that. She would say "I'm sorry" And give it to her the very next day, I later found this out from my Dad.
If my children were sick she went to the doctor with me or she would bring medicine or whatever was needed. When I gave birth to my son and had complications she stayed with me for well over two months to help me get acclimated to my new life with a teenager and a new born. She helped me plan their birthday parties and always carried enough pictures of them in her purse to plaster the walls of her house.
And so this being my second Mother’s Day I have a whole host of bittersweet memories. I rejoice that in a world of abused and abandoned children, I had a mother who loved me, nurtured me, and taught me right from wrong. And I cry, because I miss her friendship, her strength, her humor, and her love for my children.

Missing you,

She made Company!!!!!

I have been so absorbed with Potty training that I forgot to tell you about my beautiful Daughter and all her accomplishments.

Autumn auditioned for a University Dance Company and was selected out of 60 girls that auditioned only 9 made it into company and she was in that 9. WOW! my little guy is turning 4 in just 4 more days. Time waits on no one. He's so brilliant the way that he articulates his big words and explains himself.

So Aut and I are planning a 4th Birthday party and to no surprise It's a Thomas the Tank theme and boy is Trey excited. Little Man Trey lives for his trains if he could sleep with them he would, but being that he sleeps with me half the time and I don't like rolling over metal trains I never allow it. I think that we finally have found what will get him to use the potty ~ More TRAINS!!! For each time that he goes to the bathroom it works toward a new train. He has already managed to get Emily and is working on "Duck" I the train connoisseur that I am unfortunately don't recognize Duck... But I'm sure my little guy will take me to the toy store and point it out without hesitation. Stay tuned to see if he gets DUCK in the upcoming weeks.

Almost 4 and still not Potty Trained

It's been rough times. My little guy is turning 4 in a week and is afraid to use the potty for Number 2. I have tried everything under the sun to get him to understand that there is nothing to be afraid of but he is very strong willed and minded and is absolutely adamant about the fact that "it's scary". I spoke with his Doctor about it and she said "Stop pushing- this is the one thing that he can control so let him be in control" I thinking "OH BOY! Really? So I stopped and the other night before bed like any other night I cleaned him up and put him on the toilet for his nightly pee-pee and WHAT DO YOU KNOW! Poop! He was having a hard time so I help a little and Boy was he elated! He said "Mommy I did it- I pooped in the toilet and I'm a big boy now Mom" I praised him offered him a train (he loves Thomas the Tank Engine) And he really wants Emily so I said tomorrow if your as successful at daycare we will go out and get you that new train. Well to my surprise, the report was negative. He refused to go. So when we got home I asked him to go and it was as if the night before never happened. Tonight is a new night. Stay tuned for the potty training saga.

Working from home

I Love working from home.
